Nollywood Actor saint obi & his Final Moment on Earth with his Family (Video)
Reports have emerged that popular Nigerian actor, Saint Obi, has passed on at the age of 57 after a protracted illness.
It was reported that he died early in the week after battling an undisclosed illness for several months with no successful treatment.
The Actors Guild of Nigeria is yet to make a statement as the family reportedly have a little disagreement hence the delay to make a formal announcement
Saint Obi is a legendary Nollywood actor and producer. He acts mostly in action thriller movies and has been in the Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood for over two decades.
Saint Obi whose full name is Obinna Nwafor is a legendary Nollywood actor, producer, director, entrepreneur, investor, philanthropist and a television personality. He always features in action thriller movies.
He has been regarded as one of the highest paid actors in Nigeria and also one of the richest, best performing actors and also most influential actors in Nigeria. He is always known for playing the role of a legend, hero, police detective, top security agent and hitman role in several Nollywood action thriller movies. He has been in the industry for over 2 decades and regarded as one of the pioneer of the Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood.
He was born on 16th November 1965 in Port Harcourt, River State in the south southern part of Nigeria. He is currently 54 years old. Saint Obi is a native of Okpa, a small town in Mbaitolo Local Government Area of Imo State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. He grew up in Jos, Plateau State in the northern part of Nigeria.
Saint Obi is the only son in a family of 9 children. He has eight sisters and was the only male child in the family. He completed his primary school education in Jos, Plateau State in the northern part of Nigeria and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate.
After completing his primary school education, Saint Obi proceeded to Zang Secondary Commercial School in Jos, Plateau State in the northern part of Nigeria and obtained his West African Senior School Certificate.
After completing his primary and secondary school education, Saint Obi proceeded to University of Jos in Plateau State in the northern part of Nigeria and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts in 1991. While still in the university as an undergraduate, Saint Obi was actively involved in stage drama and performing art. He started acting on stage and appearing on several television soap opera as an undergraduate back days in the University of Jos in Plateau State, Nigeria.
In 1995, Saint Obi joined the Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood professionally and started attending movie auditions and featuring in movies as supporting character. In 1996, Saint Obi rose to fame after starring in several NTA commercial series.
Saint Obi is currently married to Lydia Saint Nwafor and the marriage is blessed with many beautiful kids. In 2001, Saint Obi produced his first movie titled “Take Me to Mama” where he starred as Jerry, alongside with Ebi Sam.
Saint Obi started showing interest in acting right from his secondary school days, he was fond of writing drama scripts and acting in stage play. As a teenager Saint Obi dream was to become a professional actor.
Saint Obi has acted in more than 250 Nollywood movies. Some of the movies he has acted include Candle Light, Goodbye Tomorrow, Heart of Gold, Executive Crime, State of Emergency, War Front, The President Must Not Die, and many more. He act mostly in action thriller movie and is always hailed by fans as Nollywood living legend. Sometimes he acts in romantic movies, but he is very good and perfect in action thriller movies and always plays the role of a top security detective who fights crime and disturb top government corrupt officials.
Saint Obi admired several British, American and Hollywood actors and wanted to become famous when he grows up. That is why he was actively involved in drama, stage play.
